Anyone out there play any war board games? Hex and counter, card driven, block games, short, long, simple, complicated, I'm interested in them all. I'm still fairly new to everything, I've only played Rommel in the Desert, Bonaparte at Marengo and the Advanced Squad Leader starter kits, but I thought they were all great! I'm also interested in getting into the full ASL system too if there are any veterans of that out there. Anyway, I'm always up for new stuff too, so if anyone out there...

I think I got a handle on the random scenerio generator that Pete was linking on his site. It's not really feasible however, as it is just Germans vs. Russians and none of us own the models that it pulls out of its ass for use in game. I might look a little closer and see if I can pull it apart in visual studio and expand its funtionality to include japanese, british, and americans, (the A&A stand-bys) but i wouldn't hold your breath, the databasing will be a pain if its written the way...

I am acquiring 10mm and 28mm armies for this period (mainly biblical). Better yet, what periods, rulesets and scales are people interested in (besides WWII - Blitzkrieg Commander)? Once again, just testing the interest level of people in Lawrence. For you college folk interested, maybe the Hometown crowd could design a simple flyer to post around campus for students and professors alike.

After seeing this on Sunday, I must say, this ruleset seems to run smoothly. After looking into the publisher's website, it seems the monster that is artillery could be adjusted for the scale, as 'Pete' mentions the area of effect, as written, seems to be for slightly larger (10-12mm) scales and recommends adjusting as desired.
Anyhow, I am merely attempting to spark conversation for this game and am eagerly anticipating a few GHQ boxes to ready for the battlefield.
